[en] JMT Excel Utilities - Introduction

Before we discuss more about JMT Excel Utilities, I conclude that there are 4 data processing methods:

1. Manually
   For example: Selection manual, Find text, Copy and Paste, etc..
2. Formula
   For example: Adding a formula IF, SUMIF, LEFT, MID, RIGHT, concatenate, VLOOKUP, etc..
3. Excel Features
   For example: Pivot Table, Subtotal, Auto Filter, etc.
4. Combined
   Combination of manual, Excel features, and Formulas
   
5. JMT Excel Utilities
   Excel formulas which is customized by using a userfriendly interface.

If you have already mastered the four methods of data processing, of course your work can be done more quickly with a high accuracy. I would like to add one more method of data processing by JMT Utilites. Especially for large data processing, with JMT Utilities you work would be very effective and efficient.

However, it should be noted that there is a very fundamental difference between Excel formulas with Excel macros:

• The Excel formula written in the Formula Bar and it can be undone
• JMT Utilities is a formula that is written by the Visual Basic Editor - usually called macro - (Alt + F11) and it CAN NOT BE UNDONE

Therefore you should learn the features first using dummy data. But if you're already accustomed to and understand its use, you can use your actual data.

Formula macros (VBA) is locked with a password, so you can not "peek" the macro formula. This is also as a license (copyright) and is also to avoid changes in the formula that may make the file will be error or corrupt.

However the sophistication of this Utility, JMT Excel Consulting still recommends that:

1. When working with this utility, remember that many of the code (formula) to loop through the cells, area, worksheets, etc.. Therefore, we recommend you to narrow your selection to reduce the time for the code to complete. Avoid doing things like selecting entire columns unless you really have to, although some of these utilities can be done instantly.
2. When using the utility for the first time, should be tested beforehand to see if the utility worked as expected. We recommend you to backup (save) your work periodically. As far as our knowledge, none of the utility will create problems if used correctly. (Please see disclaimer in the Read Me file)
